Student Days ("we", "us", "our") operates the website studentdays.in and related services (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account and use Student Days, we collect:

  • Account information: your name, email address (including .edu emails for student verification), and password (stored encrypted, never in plain text).
  • Profile information: your college or university, graduation year, interests, bio, and profile photo (if you choose to upload one).
  • Usage information: events you save or register for, offers you click or save, and how you navigate the Service.
  • Location information: if you grant permission, your device's location to show events and deals near you. You can decline this and we will use your college location instead.
  • Technical information: browser type, device information, and IP address, collected automatically to keep the Service secure and working.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and personalize the Service — showing you relevant deals and events near your campus.
  • Verify your student status using your .edu email address.
  • Send you account-related emails and, if you opt in, deal and event notifications.
  • Improve the Service and understand how students use it.
  • Keep the Service safe and prevent fraud or abuse.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with:

  • Service providers who help us operate the Service — our hosting provider (Vercel), our database and authentication provider (Supabase), and our email provider. They process data only on our behalf.
  • Event and deal partners: when you click "Get Tickets" or "Get Offer", you are taken to a third party's website (such as Ticketmaster, Eventbrite, or a brand's store). Their own privacy policies apply once you leave Student Days.
  • Legal requirements: if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

4. Affiliate Links

Some offers on Student Days are affiliate links. If you click through and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This helps keep Student Days free for students.

5. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access and update your information anytime in your Profile.
  • Delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Delete Account. This is permanent.
  • Opt out of marketing emails through your notification settings.
  • Control location access through your browser or device settings.

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you additional rights, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion of your information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. 6. Data Security

We protect your data with industry-standard measures: encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted storage, and access controls that ensure you can only access your own data. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and review our practices regularly.

7. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data from our systems. Some information may remain in backups for a limited period before being overwritten.

8. Children's Privacy

Student Days is intended for college students aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. United States Users

Student Days is intended for users in the United States. The Service is operated from the United States, and your information is processed and stored there. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date. Significant changes will be communicated through the Service.
